FOOD DIGESTER

New digester at Tourism & Hospitality Studies to help reduce food waste

The Department of Tourism & Hospitality Studies have just installed a new invessel composter - kindly sponsored by The Clean Technology Centre.

The Digester is used for the food waste generated at the Department (from food preparation and service as well as from practical classes) and will reduce the amount of food waste generated for separate collection at CIT. The compost produced will be used on the CIT grounds.

Tourism & Hospitality Studies are Gold members of the Green Hospitality Programme and are constantly looking for ways to improve their sustainability practices.
